Hey Hey NYCTECHCLUB in the house!

THE FIRST 11 DAYS: JUMP START YOUR TRAFFIC

Driving traffic to your website does not happen overnight. But having a game plan is important.

One of the best ways to drive traffic is to use content marketing. Of course, there are many different ways to drive traffic but content marketing is one of the ways you can sort of “cheat” the system. Of course, this is not a magic pill and I can’t guarantee success. I actually think anyone that says they can guarantee to help you is a scammer. No one can predict the ultimate outcome of how you will get traffic.

The way I am going to recommend is one of the ways that have worked for me and many others I have helped before. So use it if you want. Of course, the better you get at driving traffic, the easier it will be.

My track record isn’t by luck. I’ve spent over 3.5 years trying to learn how to engage visitors, drive more traffic to my sites, and ultimately turning my online businesses into six figure passive income generators while allowing me time to 1) work 2) create 3) fly anywhere and live anywhere I want and 4) the ultimate – spending more time with the people I want to.

This takes hard work. But trust the process and you’ll never look back (hopefully).

Prerequisites: Have a website, install Google Analytics

Day 1: Competitor Research

If you have no competition, should you be in the business you’re in? Depends. Maybe you found a hidden gem! But if you do have competitors, let’s figure out what they’re doing.
How does your potential audience find your competitors? Google? Youtube? Instagram? Twitter? Referrals? Forums?
Who are your competitors?
What makes them so great?
What ways are they reaching out to their audience?
Do they have a big following?
What are they doing that you aren’t?
How does their site/videos/images look compared to yours?

Day 2: Keyword Research

This is a continuation of Day 1.
On day 1 you should have done some research by searching google and other platform using phrases and keywords. Now its time to dig a little deeper and actually pay attention to the keywords you’re using.

Write down the words you used to search for your competitors.
Think like a visitor: what variations of the phrases or keywords would he/she use to search?
Use google keywords to see what words are being searched

Day 3: Find Out What’s Trending and Popular

So you did research on your competitors and the keywords to target. But now we need to know what people are looking for.
Just knowing you’re in a popular niche is NOT enough. There are things people look for and want to see more than others. So you want to make sure you’re focused on the right things.

Use google and youtube and search. Find out what the popular topics are. Write them down and see if you’re site/business focuses on those things. Watch/read/analyze. How can you do better?
Once you know what’s popular, you’re no longer blindly trying to find your visitors. You can target them by knowing what the people want.

Day 4: Focus on Long-Tail Keywords

So there are keywords, then there are really specific keywords. The more specific you get, the more likely you’ll find your target audience.

So you want to focus your keywords not just on “How to get a job” but specifics like “How to get an investment banking job”.

Do you see the difference there? One phrase is very general and high level, while the other is more specific.

The pros of doing this is that you’ll have less competition and clutter (other websites) that are using the general key phrase and your target audience will find you easier with the specific (long-tail) keyword phrase.

So find those long tail keywords!

Come up with 5 different variations of the keyword you want to target right now. You can always expand later.

Day 5: Prepare Content Ideas

Now that you’ve done research on your competitors, keywords, and what people are looking for, it’s time to star coming up with your own content ideas.

Content should be something you should be always creating, but right now, we just want to get the ball rolling. So today we’re going to come up with what we’re going to write, and the headlines we’re going to use.

You already know what is popular from Day 3, and you know what keywords to focus on from Day 2. So write 5 different article titles that will guide what content you will write over the next 5 days.

Be original but also remember what people want.

Day 11: Brand Awareness

It’s still early on in the development of your content marketing strategy, but now that you have some content on your site, it’s time to let people know about it.

You’ve been sharing it on social media but another great way to drive traffic to your site is to start contributing on forums and platforms and referring people to your site.

The most organic way to do this is to answer questions (like genuinely answer people’s questions – no sales tactics or anything) and just put a link at the end saying you cover more of this on your website (since you should have information on the popular topics of your niche since you wrote blog posts on Day 6-9).

Going Forward: Repeat some of the above steps

You can either start writing more articles or you can brainstorm what articles to right next.

Driving traffic to your site and ultimately making money on your website does not happen without hard work. It takes time. You can to let it happen organically. The only thing I can say is, do not give up. You may not see results right away, but you will.

You can start checking your google analytics but you may need more time before anything meaningful comes up. (This isn’t an article on how to analyze google analytics but if you follow the above steps, you really won’t need to!).

My ultimate tip is this: If you provide something super high quality – whether it be content, services, or products – people will find it. As much as I want to say there is a way to “trick” the system, nothing beats high quality.

To all of you that have read this far down: I plan to turn this into an optin ebook or something. Maybe I’ll expand on it and create a worksheet. I will eventually put up videos showing you how to do most of these steps that require research. And lastly, if anyone wants personal help, I will probably eventually create a limit sign-up course or some type where I either help people one on one or through webinars or an online course.

I’ve tasted what it’s like to have a profitable online business and never have to worry about finding my next job or how I’m going to enjoy life. I’m really happy with where I am professionally and monetarily. So I hope I can help you achieve this as well.
