This is a WordPress Tutorial that walks through all the steps to learn how to make a WordPress website using the WoodMart Theme in 2025. It uses the WordPress pagebuilder, Gutenberg and we are excited to show you how to use it.
Woodmart is one of the most popular themes for Woocommerce. You can check out the Woodmart theme for yourself at the ThemeForest Website. Step 1: Install WordPress
Make sure you have WordPress installed so you can use the Woodmart theme. This means that you need to get hosting so you can run you own WordPress website. To do this you can go to the Hostinger site to get hosting, which is what we use (as of 2025 when we are typing this tutorial) and what we also recommend for the best hosting for WordPress for 2025.
- Hostinger is cheap.
- It lets you install WordPress easily.
- And your website stays up and running.
I like them and we’ve used a lot of different web hosting services in the past for WordPress.
I think the premium plan is good enough but you can check out the different plans and decide for yourself.

Once you get hosting with hostinger, you can go through the steps to install WordPress.
Step 2: Install WoodMart Theme
If you have the Woodmart theme then you can skip the first part of this section. If you need to get the Woodmart theme, you can go to the themeforest website which is a marketplace for WordPress themes and plugins.
- Once you get the Woodmart theme, you want to download all the files and documentation.
- Also download the purchase code pdf.
We’ll use both of these below.
Now what we are going to do is go back to the WordPress dashboard
- Hover over appearance > click on themes
- Click on the button at the top to add a new theme
- Click to upload the theme
- Unzip the woodmart theme file in your downloads folder
- Now go back to WordPress and upload the woodmart theme zip file
- Install and then click activate afterwards to get the Woodmart theme up for the WordPress website
After you install the Woodmart theme, we want to go through the set up process.
The first thing we are going to do is add the purchase code. Copy and paste that from the pdf.
If you do not have the purchase code, go back to the theme forest website and log in. From there click on your profile and go to downloads and in the drop down click to download the purchase code.
Now we can go through the rest of the set up process.
- Choose the website template you want to use for your wordpress website.
- Add the demo content and the plugins
- Now we can just install everything.
Once everything is installed, you can go and check out the site if you would like. The demo wordpress website should be up and running now with the Woodmart theme template! Congrats!
Step 3: Woocommerce Plugin Set Up
The reason we need to set up woocommerce is because this is how we allow for transactions with the WordPress website and the Woodmart theme.
Without woocommerce, you can’t have transactions since it processes the payments and also helps us create products and a page for products and the shop page and online store with WordPress.
Woocommerce should have been installed with the Woodmart theme, so we can just click to go to the set up.
If you need to go to the woocommerce set up page, you can also do the following –
- Go to the WordPress website dashboard
- Hover over Woocommerce
- Click on settings
We are going to go through all these tabs and they are pretty straight forward. Let’s get this done so we can start learning how to make our online store with WordPress and the Woodmart theme, yea?
For each of these tabs, after you make your changes, make sure you click save! I am not going to remind you in each tab below so just remember 🙂
General tab – put in your business address. Change the currency and time if you want. I also enable taxes and I do not change where I am selling but you can if you want.
Products tab – You can disable reviews here if you want. You don’t really need to change anything else. I also change the weight and dimensions but that’s just personal preference.
Tax tab – I don’t usually make any changes here
Shipping – I add a new zone. I add the United States and select that as the region. You can add more regions and zones in one zone, or create as many zones as you want. Then I click to add the shipping method and choose flat rate (sometimes free shipping). You can add a flat rate or use the equations to make your own rates (hover over the ? to see how).
Payments tab – I go to the plugins tab and install the Woocommerce PayPal Plugin. I just go to plugins and click on add new and search for “Woocommerce PayPal” and install the plugin by Woocommerce. Then I go back to activate the plugin and login to the PayPal account. I’ll go to the standard payments tab to enable it, change where the button will show up (just the checkout page), then choose the color. I go to the pay later and advance tab just to disable them.
Accounts & Privacy tab – I don’t make any changes here but I remind viewers of the WordPress tutorial on how to use the Woodmart theme to make sure they update the draft privacy and policy page if they want that, because the tab has some short code for that to show up in the registration and check out pages.
Email tab – the only thing that really needs to be mentioned here is that you can customize the look and feel of the emails if you want. Just scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see you can put in the name, email from, and the colors for the email notifications being set for orders and status updates.
Integration tab – I do not make any changes here
Site visibility tab – I just make the site live but if you want to have a coming soon landing page then keep that option selected and come back here after you have made your WordPress website with the Woodmart theme.
Advance tab – the only thing I do here is I go and make a Terms and Conditions page and then I go into the tab with the drop down on this page and I select that page so it is set as the Terms and Conditions page. So this means you should go make a new page by hovering over Pages on the WordPress dashboard > click on Add New > title the page > type in your terms and conditions and click publish (twice). Then you’ll have the page. You can do this whenever you want and come and update it at a later time too.
That’s all we have to do to get Woocommerce integrated and set up with the WordPress website so we are good to go! Easy but sometimes for me, kind of boring because I just want to make the ecommerce website and learn how to use the Woodmart theme! So let’s get to doing some other stuff and make this online store already!
Step 4: Website Settings
Before we get started in learning how to use the Woodmart theme and changing our settings, let’s go to the general wordpress settings first so we know how to change them.
- On the wordpress dashboard, you can hover over settings
- Click on General to change the website name or the email for the website
- Click on reading if you want only a blog page to show up as the home page but this should be set as a static page if we are using a template from the Woodmart theme so we don’t have to change anything
- You can change whether comments are allowed in the discussion section if you want
- There are other settings here for the wordpress website. So just know that you can come here to make changes if you want.
Step 5: Update Password and Logging In
I want to cover this because I think it’s important but it often gets overlooked nowadays because in 2025, after you install WordPress, you get redirected directly from the hosting company. So to make sure you know how to log in from your WordPress website you can use the following URL
websitename.com/wp-login
You want to use your admin name and the passord
To get these, you can hover over Users on the WordPress dashboard
Click on Users
Click on edit
You’ll see the username there and also see where you can update your password
Save those
Then you can use the URL website name.com/wp-login (if you have your own domain) going forward and you do not need to go to the dashboard of the hosting company to go to the website

Step 6: Theme Settings With Woodmart Theme
Let’s patch our website first with any updates we need to do.
In the Woodmart tab on the wordpress website > hover over it and click on patcher
Click apply on all the patches
Now this is where we can go to check out all the theme options
