How to Set Up A Blog With WordPress 2026
Blogging is one of the biggest things to happen in 2026 and it is only getting bigger.
Step 1: Install WordPress on your own host server

Step 2: Install A WordPress Blog Theme and Customize
Once you have Cloudways set up for the blog website, now we have to install the WordPress application. The steps are in the video accompaning this tutorial.
- Set up the server (name it whatever you want for your blog website)
- Then select to install WordPress
- Wait a minute or so and then it is set up!
- Now we can log in and choose the theme we want to add or upload in order for it to be a custom blog website with WordPress that we can write articles on.
Step 3: Start Writing Your Blog
To write articles on your new blog website with WordPress, just go to the dashboard and hover over posts and click add new.
Now you can write your article title, content, and optimize it for SEO, AEO, and GEO.
If you want, you can also click on the New button on the top of the webpage and it will show you a little pop up for creating a new blog post with WordPress.
Click publish whenever you are ready to post your new article.
Step 4: Add Additional Customizations When Ready
There are a lot of customizations you can do with WordPress and your new blog. This is what people really like about WordPress. The ability to customize the entire site however you want with plugins, templates, themes, and custom code.
There is a whole community that supports WordPress for free. This is what the open source WordPress community is all about.
Whether you want to add your own logo, customize the colors, the header, the font styles, or the footer or add other things. WordPress plugins and options allow you to do that.
Check out all the tutorials available if you ever are needing something to be customized. There are so many content creators that you should be able to get the answer you are looking for.
Step 5: Using AI is Possible
That’s It! But before we go, just remember, now with AI you can get the customization options you need by asking your favorite LLM chat AI bot. Usually they will either give you the steps you need or tell you to add some plugin or custom code. Ask for the instructions to walk you through what you need to do step by step if you ever need.
