How to Install and Run A WordPress Website 2025
There are a few options for installing and running a WordPress website and there are a lot of different solutions. You can use anything from WordPress.com to a host provider like Hostinger. The choice is yours and it comes down to what type of features and options you want in order to run your WordPress website.
We’ve created tutorials to make a WordPress website using many of the host providers that host WordPress websites. They’re all a little different so it really depends on the needs of the business/individual, although some are better than others – in my opinion.
If you want to make a WordPress website and you are looking for hosting, then the two options I recommend today (2025) are either Hostinger – which is what we use, or WordPress.com which is created from one of the original founders of WordPress.
With Hostinger you can host your own website and it’s really easy to set up.
With WordPress.com you are hosting your website on the WordPress.com server so this is similar to hosting your website on a content management system like Squarespace or Shopify.

Step 1: Sign Up for Hostinger

Step 2: Select a Hosting Plan
Hostinger offers a range of hosting plans and for most, you can just focus on choosing between the Premium and Business plans.
The premium plan should be good enough and you can always upgrade to the business plan later. With the premium plan you can host up to 100 websites, get your own email, register a free domain, and get a free SSL certificate.
The big differences between the Premium and the Business plan, to me, is the amount of storage and the differnce between weekly and daily back ups. Unless you are updating your site daily though, you probably do not need daily back ups. Plus, you can always create back ups yourself or use other plugins to do this so you don’t need to sign up for the business plan in order for this to happen.
Step 3: Register Your Domain Name
If you don’t have a domain, with any plan over 12 months, you can register a domain for free for one year. You will be able to do this in the steps when installing WordPress. But first, we need to get the hosting, and then you can select to install WordPress.
Step 4: Install WordPress
Once your hosting plan is set up, log in to your Hostinger account and navigate to the control panel. Click on “Auto Installer” and select WordPress. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
You can skip the steps for the type of website you want to make if you want and also the plugins you want. The only think you really need to do is install WordPress and there are a variety of themes and plugins that you can choose from once you have everything set up. Sometimes, the recommended themes and plugins from hosting companies aren’t always the best ones so you want to make sure you know which ones are available to you and which one you decide to use.
You can always install or change the theme and the plugins anything, so you aren’t stuck with any particular one if you do select one.
Step 5: Access Your WordPress Dashboard
After installation, log in to your WordPress dashboard by visiting yourdomain.com/wp-admin. Use the credentials you created during the installation process to access your site.
It’s good to note that you can always access your WordPress dashboard through the hostinger website too. You can login and go to the Website list and click to access the WordPress dashboard this way.
If you do not know your username and password, you can click to go to the WordPress dashboard from hostinger and you can change it there. Then you can login with the link above (I’ll paste it here again for you)

One More Thing…
I didn’t really talk about why we recommend Hostinger in this article but since we did, I should tell you why we like it.
The reason why we use Hostinger is because it’s cheap and it works. What I mean is it’s fast and we don’t really have any problems with it. I can’t remember the past time, if ever, that I had to contact the customer service chat for help with the WordPress website.
I’ve used a lot of different hosting options in the past and Hostinger is really good compared to some of the others we have used. It’s not the only one but for many people, it’s all you really need. And the last thing you want is to try to save money using another service and then running into issues and then having to pay someone to help you which ends up costing you more.
The most important thing is to have your WordPress website up and running and for it to reach as many people as it can, so you can grow – whether that is for you or your business. So that’s why we recommend it, but you are more than welcome to use any other option available to run your own WordPress website.
